Is the fact that things last much shorter nowadays really so bad ?

A lot of people say that it's bad we must buy new washer after few years of using it. They say that in 20 th century when somone bought any device it works even today. It's of course true, but then washers or cars  were much more expensive. For me it's great that we earn so much money that we can buy a lot of things even they will work for shorter period.

How big are stars?

The universe is so big that we can't imagine it. Even with objects like stars and planets will be hard. But with a few examples of the biggest stars I will show you how the Earth is small.   We usualy see models of the solar system with sun two or three times bigger than planets. Truth is quite different. Volume of our star is 1,3 millions times bigger than volume of the Earth!   Do you think now the Sun is big? Is it big compare with the Rigel? Does Rigel is big compare with the Betelguese or Antares? This is moment when we can't understand scale of the universe.   It's not the end of star gigants. The biggest stars in the universe is UY Scuti and Canis Majoris. For example when the Sun would has 20 centimeters the UY Scuti would has 20 kilometers. In the universe is few sizes can shock us like the biggest galaxy, but for me difference between Sun and the Earth is enough.

What do we learn about modern society from "The Joneses"?

If the film wanted to show us Larry as a typical, american, upper-class man I found modern society from film full of mentally weak persons who can't take responsibility for their lives. If it's true it's very sad for me that  people don't know how to make ractional decisions. Luckly I don't belive that looks american society. I still see the richest as a responsible entreprenuers, motors of the world, people that can't be killed by adverts. Not like Larry

Changes in our society

In last week my scout told me that he won elections for the chairman of school self-government. He said that he succeeded it only, because he promised to change grey toilet paper to white, perfumed and soft. That showed me terrible truth about youth people - they lost values of our civilization. They chose hedonism instead of working on strong character and inner power. Fortunately, little Klemens and other scouts will go with me on scout camp and they will find out that real happiness is possible only when there is also suffering and not having perfumed toilet paper.
